If you’ve added Pai to your Thailand itinerary, you will not be disappointed. This was easily one of my favorite places that I visited while I was in Thailand. It’s a beautiful laidback mountain town with waterfalls, reggae bars, incredibly kind people, a wide variety of delicious food options, temples, and lots of outdoor activities.

While Pai is completely amazing, I think part of what made my stay in Pai so perfect was choosing to stay at the Pai Village Boutique Resort!  This beautiful resort in Pai is easily the best accommodation here.

So here is my review of my time at the best hotel in Pai.

How’s the location of the Pai Village Boutique Resort?

The location of this resort cannot be beaten. It is located right on the walking street of Pai. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and shops directly out the front of the hotel.

It’s also less than a 5-minute walking distance from the bus station of Pai. So if you are taking the bus from Chiang Mai into Pai or taking the bus from Pai back to Chiang Mai — two very common routes since Pai is only reachable by driving — this is a prime location.

You won’t have to walk very far with your backpack and/or luggage at all.

How’s the room at the Pai Village Boutique Resort?

I stayed in the “Boutique Garden” room. This room came with air conditioning, a coffee/tea maker (I paid just a little bit more to have coffee, tea, and fruit in the room), WiFi, and a private terrace/balcony at the entrance of the room with a hammock and lounging cushion. It also felt very private because it was in the garden so it was surrounded by beautiful landscaping all around. So even if the bungalows were close, it still felt private. This room fits 2 people, but there are other options at the resort if you are traveling with more people.

I mean, I just could not get over how beautiful this room was. If there weren’t so many great things to do in Pai, I could have easily sat at the resort all day. It’s just stunning and so relaxing. Exactly what you imagine when you are thinking of a Thailand vacation.

One of my favorite things was at night, they came and lit some incense on everyone’s bungalow terrace. Which smelled FABULOUS and the smoke is there to help keep the mosquitos away from your outdoor sitting. It smelt like walking through a spa all the way to my room.

Here’s a video overview of the private bungalow I stayed in during my time at Pai Village Boutique Resort! It shows the terrace, bedroom, and bathroom.

How’s the rest of the Pai Village Boutique Resort?

The resort is very open, airy, and full of greenery which is very on brand for Thailand. But you cannot help but feel relaxed here with all the greenery, lounge chairs in the garden, open-air dining, and a beautiful pool. Even just walking to your room is relaxing.

So back when I stayed in June of 2022, when I booked through agoda.com, I was able to get breakfast included. The breakfast here was excellent and full of variety. You can order either pancakes or eggs which they will make when ordered. And there are also tons of seasonal fruit, little snacks, jams, toast, and tea/coffee/juice which are more buffet-style. This is offered up by the lobby and outdoor sitting by the front of the hotel.

There’s a little bar up by the front just before the lobby that is adorable and has an excellent variety.

The resort also has its own steakhouse served in the evenings. I was unable to try it so I can’t speak to how the food is but based on their breakfast and the complimentary refreshments, I can imagine that it’s delicious.

Speaking of refreshments, in the afternoon, the resort puts out refreshments in the lobby as well. This usually includes water flavored with cucumbers or fruits, a couple different snacks, and probably the most amazing iced tea I’ve ever had. Seriously, I drank probably way too many glasses of that iced tea.

When you are booking, you may notice that the resort is called Pai Village Resort & Farm and that is because they have a sister location: Farm Stay @ Pai with a farm. When staying at Pai Village Boutique Resort, you also get a complimentary visit to their farm.

What are the pros and cons of this beautiful resort in Pai?

I’ll start off with the con because it is so minimal. If you are looking for a more social environment because you are traveling on your own or looking to meet people, this isn’t a social hotel.

With that being said, I traveled as a solo female here and I thought it was still the perfect choice. As long as you are comfortable getting out and doing things on your own, you can easily socialize. Book a tour, go sit at a bar or coffee shop, or check out one of the many things to do around town — there are plenty of options to socialize in Pai, plus it’s a very laid-back community so it’s easy. Therefore, to me, this didn’t serve as a con because I enjoyed having a nice beautiful place to reset after staying in so many hostels.

The pros list is a bit longer…

  • BEAUTIFUL resort and comfortable rooms

  • Great snacks/coffee that’s offered in the afternoon

  • Comfortable bed/room

  • Great breakfast

  • Prime location

  • Relaxing and spa-like environment that truly makes you feel like a queen

  • Free parking if you choose to rent a scooter or car

  • Incredibly friendly staff, always remembered my name and said hi when I was around, seriously so kind.

To be honest, I could keep going.

How much does staying at the Pai Village Boutique Resort cost?

The cost to stay at this beautiful Pai Resort is honestly incredibly reasonable and I would even say cheap! I booked through Agoda (a popular hotel booking platform in Asia) and I paid 49 USD for the room, coffee/tea/fruits, complimentary afternoon refreshments, and free breakfast was offered with that as well!

As far as staying in Thailand, sure you can get cheaper options at hostels and some hotels, but to me nothing can beat this resort for this price in Pai. I am already looking forward to the day that I can return!
