Skydive in Interlaken: The Most Unforgettable Experience

One of my biggest bucket list items since I was a kid was to go skydiving. It was also on my mom’s bucket list. After she passed away in 2017, I made a promise to myself that I would do it for both of us. Then I though, how could I make this even more epic…I could skydive in Interlaken.

Skydiving in Switzerland—specifically skydiving in Interlaken—is something I think everyone should get to experience at least once. If you’re even considering it, let this be your sign.

Why I Chose Skydive Interlaken

When I planned my trip to Switzerland in April 2019, I knew I wanted this experience to be unforgettable. So I started searching for the best place for skydiving in Interlaken, and within minutes of landing on Skydive Interlaken, I was sold.

Not only is Interlaken one of the most scenic places in the world, but this company offers a helicopter skydive from 14,000 feet—which is next-level compared to a standard plane jump.

Naturally, I booked immediately… and convinced three of my friends to do it too.

Getting to Interlaken for the Jump

We took a train from Zurich to Interlaken, which made this experience super accessible—even as a day trip to Interlaken from Zurich.

Once we arrived, everything was seamless. The team at Skydive Interlaken walked us through safety instructions, got us suited up, and paired us with our tandem instructors. The energy was a mix of nerves, excitement, and “what did we just sign up for?”

The Helicopter Ride Over the Swiss Alps

Before the jump even started, we had a 10-minute helicopter ride over the Swiss Alps—and honestly, that alone felt like a bucket list moment.

Seeing the mountains, lakes, and valleys from above is something you just can’t fully grasp until you’re there. Switzerland is already stunning from the ground, but from the sky? Unreal.

The Jump: Skydive in Interlaken

Instead of jumping out of a plane, you jump from a helicopter.

You actually step out onto a small bar outside the helicopter before the drop. So yes—you’re literally standing above the Swiss Alps, holding on, taking it all in for a second before you go.

And then… you lean forward.

There are truly no words for that feeling.

The freefall lasted about 45 seconds to a minute, and it was pure adrenaline in the best way possible.

Once the parachute deployed, everything slowed down. We floated over the lakes and mountains of Interlaken, taking in views that felt almost too perfect to be real.

My instructor even let me try steering the parachute, which quickly humbled me because apparently I need to hit the gym.

We did a few spins in the air before heading toward the landing zone.

Landing (and a Little Reality Check)

For landing, you lift your legs up and slide in—simple in theory, slightly less graceful in practice (again, strength training would’ve helped here).

But we landed safely, and honestly, I was just buzzing from the entire experience.

After the jump, the team quickly edited our GoPro footage into a video with music—ready within minutes.

And yes, I 100% recommend getting the video and photos. It’s one of those experiences you’ll want to relive over and over.

Total cost: about $694 USD for skydiving in Switzerland, including photos and video in 2019. As of 2026, booking with Skydive Interlaken will cost you around $690 for the skydive, and they include different picture/video options on their website for an additional fee.

It is expensive, but…Worth. Every. Penny. Save your dollars and book it!

Is Skydiving in Interlaken Worth It?

Without hesitation—yes.

Skydiving in Interlaken with Skydive Interlaken was one of the best experiences of my life. Between the helicopter ride, the insane views of the Swiss Alps, and the adrenaline of the jump itself, it’s truly unmatched.

If you’re traveling to Switzerland, this is an absolute must-do.
